London SLC and Voi remind riders: ‘End your ride thoughtfully’

London Sight Loss Councils are starting 2026 with a clear message for e-bike riders: end your ride thoughtfully.

In partnership with Voi riders across London are being reminded that how and where a ride ends can make the difference between a clear pavement and a dangerous obstacle for blind and partially sighted people.

The campaign is delivered with micromobility operator, Voi. The operator is the third signatory of London SLCs E-Bike Charter, which sets out six key principles to improve street safety for BPS pedestrians.

As part of the initiative, which will run throughout February in line with ‘Low Vision Awareness month’, riders will see the following message within the app’s inbox:

End Your Ride Thoughtfully

“Sight Loss Councils and Voi are working together for clearer, safer, streets. When your ride ends, please park responsibly and don’t leave bikes blocking paths for blind or partially sighted people.”

Why parking thoughtfully matters

Poorly parked e-bikes can block pavements, crossings, and shop entrances forcing blind and partially sighted people into unsafe situations. Every single bike left parked inappropriately can remove someone’s confidence to travel independently.

“Our message raises awareness among Voi riders about how essential it is to keep pavements and walkways safe for blind and partially sighted people.”

Liam O’Carroll, Interim Engagement Manager of London SLCs, added:

“We hope this will encourage riders to park in a way that is safe for blind and partially sighted people.

“We look forward to building our on this work with Voi throughout 2026.”

Voi UK’s Public Policy Manager, Harry Foskin, said:

“We are working hard to ensure that our e-bikes and e-scooters work for both riders and the rest of the community – including blind and partially sighted pedestrians.

“Voi is proud to continue our collaboration with London Sight Loss Councils in 2026, starting with this new campaign, encouraging riders to consider other road users and park responsibly.”

How to report misparked vehicles

Users can report misparked Voi vehicles in two ways:

  • Report-a-Voi which can be accessed either in-app or through voi.com. Users will need to provide details on time, location, and ideally vehicle QR code. A member of the team will attend the vehicle within two hours.
  • Contact our support team directly at support@voi.com

The campaign supports London SLCs’ E-Bike Charter, which calls on operators to take responsibility for safer streets for blind and partially sighted pedestrians. Three operators have already signed up, with more expected in the coming months.
