Greater Manchester Sight Loss Council invite blind are partially sighted customers to an event titled ‘Making Retail Accessible’, which will explore ways to create a more positive customer experience for blind and partially sighted shoppers.

Kelly Barton, North West engagement manager, said:

“Whether it’s food, clothing or gadgets, everybody shops – and that’s why the Greater Manchester Sight Loss Council is tackling this essential everyday issue, of making retail more accessible for blind and partially sighted people.

“Anyone who comes along to our Event will be able to hear from guest speakers within the retail sector, including John Lewis. We also want to hear about your own shopping experiences. There will be an opportunity to get involved in our interactive technology session. You can try out some apps that can help you identify products, enabling you to shop more independently.”

The event will host representatives from John Lewis and Arndale Shopping centre and accessible tech experts that will demonstrate ways that technology can be used to enable blind and partially sighted customers to shop independently.
