Let’s Get Out More: Accessible sports and leisure VI forum
Wednesday 14 July 5:30pm - 7:00pm
Want to find out about inclusive sports in the West Midlands?
Looking to have your say on how to make sports and leisure in the region more accessible to blind and partially sighted people?
Book your place
If you’re blind or partially sighted, our Birmingham and Black Country Sight Loss Councils invite you to our Accessible Sport and Leisure VI Forum on 14 July, featuring Dave Heeley OBE – the first blind person to run seven marathons in seven days on seven continents.
As lockdown eases, it is an ideal opportunity to encourage existing sport sessions, coaches, clubs, and venues to ensure they are accessible for blind and partially sighted people.
Come along to learn about inclusive sports happening in the West Midlands and don’t forget to put your questions to our panel of experts.
The panel
Emma Clueit – Accessibility Manager, Commonwealth Games
Paul Glover – West Bromwich Albion Football Club
Alexander Giles – Graduate Engagement Advisor, Activity Alliance
Andy Corkill South Staffordshire Helper, Charlottes Tandems
Theresa Wilcox – Support Service Manager, FOCUS Birmingham
Dave Heeley OBE – Motivational speaker and athlete
Book your place
When filling in our short registration form, you will be asked if you would like to submit a question in advance. A selection of these questions will be used at the event.
Registration for the event will close at 5pm on Wednesday 14 July.
