Nikki Hughes, South West London SLC volunteer, said:

Headshot of South West London SLC member, Nikki Hughes. Nikki is seated, against a cream background. She is sitting at an angle, but facing the camera and smiling.“I urge people to come to the coffee morning events because it’s a chance to have your voices heard and to give your lived experience of what travelling is actually like on a day to day basis. It’s also a chance to be updated with all the new changes that are being put in place to make transport more accessible and find out new information you might not have heard before.”

Vicky Blencowe, South West London SLC volunteer, said:

Headshot of London SLC member, Vicky Blencowe. Vicky is outside and wearing a red sunhat, sunglasses and white and red flowery shirt.“We were delighted to have so many local visually impaired people attend our first coffee and chat at Sutton station last November. We were able to share information around access that has already been put into place, of which many users were unaware.

“We have been working on our new audio guide of Sutton station, alongside an accessibility report which we carried out at the station. We look forward to sharing the progress of this and providing new updates around Sutton Station and train travel more generally at our event on 2 May.”

Senior Sight Loss Council Engagement Manager, Nicki Guy, shared about this event:

Headshot of Nicki Guy, Senior Engagement Manager, South. Nicki has a short, brown bob and is wearing a cream, v-neck top. She's smiling at the camera.“We’re really excited to welcome people to our second Coffee and Chat event. We look forward to sharing updates on our work at Sutton Station as part of our ‘Your Station, Your Community’ project with Govia Thameslink Railway.

“We want to remove some of the barriers blind and partially sighted people face when using the train network, and hopefully this project has done just that.

“Join us on 2 May, to find out more!”
