Webinar recording: how blind people can get involved in sport and the arts

Covid-19 has had a huge impact on blind and partially sighted people’s ability to access sport and the arts, with limits on sighted guiding and leisure centres and performance venues closed.

As we enter a post-Lockdown world, the Manchester Sight Loss Council held a webinar with a panel of experts to promote and explore the opportunities and benefits of taking part in sport and the arts.

The panel included: Paralympic Gold Medallist and food blogger Laura Fachie MBE, actor and director Elizabeth Roney, blind coach Sheraz Chohan and performing arts graduate Ada Eravama. The webinar also featured live poetry readings by award-winning poet Dave steele and rounded off with a relaxing low intensity breathing and chair yoga session by Claire Miller.

Listen to the panellists talk about their careers, share information about organisations you can get in touch with to get started and answer questions from our virtual audience.
