Ask Annie

West Midlands Trains approached the Birmingham Sight Loss Council to support the design and development of their new transport initiative, Ask Annie. The Ask Annie website helps people over 55 and with mobility challenges to plan their transport door to door, the aim is to help them to stay independent and continue to use public transport, without support. Participants contact the Ask Annie website and explain the journey they wish to make, the staff then plan a journey for them and call them back to describe the route to them.

Members of the Sight Loss Council tested out the accessibility of the website and even took a journey with Ask Annie, providing feedback to make sure it was inclusive. Improvements were made and the website is now live and ready to use. If you wish to make a journey in the West Midlands via Ask Annie, you can visit the website at https://www.ask-annie.co.uk/
