Pavement Parking is a major issue for blind and partially sighted people. Their lives are put at risk from oncoming cars as they are unable to see how the pavement is blocked and are forced to walk into the road. For this reason, pavement parking presents a major health and safety issue for blind and partially sighted people.

Due to this, the Black Country and Birmingham Sight Loss Council members were compelled to act and joined with other Sight Loss organisations such as Guide Dogs and the RNIB to submit a response to the inquiry by the Transport Select Committee.
